...crazy going slowly am I, 6,5,4,3,2,1, switch.
I hope you have that song in your head for the rest of the day.
It's crunch week here, the last week of school and soccer, with events happening every day at school and soccer three times this week, ending with a tournament on Saturday, and hey, throw a birthday party in there for good measure! Then, blissful unscheduled time until day-camp and swimming lessons start up. I'm sure that all you parents out there are counting down the days as well. Of course, 5 minutes into the summer holidays we'll all be asking ourselves why we were looking forward to this. As soon as the fighting and constant whining for freezies begins I'll be looking longingly at the calendar countdown to school starting again in the fall.
The home upgrades and repairs continue unabated, but for every item stroked off the list another two spring up in it's place. Oh the joys of being a homeowner! My computer speakers quit working and I was crawling around under the desk seeing if they had been unplugged while Mike was ripping out the baseboards, only to find that they were grounding out, and I was a handy conduit. Yesterday the bathroom fan decided that IT would decide when it was going to come on and when I went down to the laundry room this morning, I discovered that one of the pipes has developed a slow drip, and will probably have to be replaced (or I can just wait to see if corrosion will seal it back up for me!). I guess house repairs are the price you pay for living in a central and established neighborhood.
Our furniture was delivered today and I feel like I'm living with my heart in my throat. I'm second guessing my decision to order cream coloured furniture, I keep reminding myself that we already have a white couch downstairs with two kids and it seems to be alright. I'm trying to imagine what it will look like when the walls are painted, new trim, draperies hung, and some floor lamps in place. Please tell me it will be okay!
